Full-time position available with the City Planning & Development Department, Land Development Division located at 414 East 12th Street
Salary Range: $5,794-$8,833/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., *telework available 1 day per week after 6 month probationary period

Responsibilities
- Performs reviews of public infrastructure, site disturbances, stormwater studies, and building plans to assure design stage conformance with City standards and codes.
- Reviews development plans and plats and placing conditions for consideration by the City Plan Commission and City Council.
- Coordinates with developers, engineers, contractors, and other City departments to achieve general compliance status for public and private development projects.
- Utilizes computer software program to record and track information pertinent to plan review projects for which the individual has responsibility.
- Responsible for on-time performance and accuracy of work.
- Works in conjunction with Land Development inspectors to resolve questions during construction to ensure infrastructure meets the City's requirements.
- Assists with training and guidance of new engineers.
Qualifications
REQUIRES professional engineer registration. Within 6 months of hire date, must be registered as a professional engineer with Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Professional Landscape Architects. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as prescribed by the City. Preference given for an accredited bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
