Minimum Qualifications
Engineering Associate A
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job.
  • Experience may be substituted for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.

Licenses or Certifications:

  • None.

Engineering Associate B
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus two (2) years related experience.
  • Experience may be substituted for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.

Licenses or Certifications:

  • None.

Engineering Associate C
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to engineering, plus four (4) years of experience in a field related to the job, one (1) year in a lead capacity.
  • Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • None.

Engineering Associate A: $27.16 - $32.87
Engineering Associate B: $28.85 - $36.06
Engineering Associate C: $31.81 - $39.76


POSITION OVERVIEW :

The Watershed Protection Department is seeking an Engineering Associate A, B, or C to assist with project design and coordination in the Project Design and Delivery Division. The successful candidate will work with an engineering team to assist with design plan development, survey, construction inspection, and project coordination. Work will include use of AutoCAD and Civil3D, ESRI ArcGIS, Microsoft Excel, and other design software. Applicants should have experience with various types of drainage infrastructure, such as stormwater ponds, stormdrain pipes, and open channel drainage systems. Ideal candidates are those that thrive in collaborative work environments.

RETENTION INCENTIVE BONUS :
This position may be eligible to participate in the Watershed Protection Department Employee Retention Incentive Plan intended to compensate regular full-time employees in field operations and engineering-specific titles. You may receive a bonus of up to $5000! The payment schedule is:

  • $1250 after 90 days of employment
  • $1250 after 180 days of continuous employment
  • $1250 after one (1) year of continuous employment
  • $1250 after two (2) years of continuous employment

Hours

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with various types of drainage infrastructure design: pipes, stormwater ponds, and open channels.
  • Experience in design plan development using AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • Experience in conducting field surveys for topography, utilities, and other surface features using Trimble and/or Leica survey instruments.
  • Experience in researching utility as-built drawings and other infrastructure.
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location.
